練習をシンプルにするために、間接話法の文の伝達動詞は被伝達文が疑問文のとき以外は told me で統一。被伝達文が疑問文のときは asked me とします。
誰々 said to me 「平叙文」→ 誰々 told me that ～.
誰々 said to me 「疑問文?」→ 誰々 asked me that ～.



◆補足説明
練習では取り上げませんが、時制の一致の適用されない以下のような例外があります。

私に言ったときも今も事実（「好き」という状態）が続いている。

Rajiv said, “I just love my job!”
ラジブが言った。「僕は自分の仕事が、もう大好きさ！」
⇒Rajiv said he loves his job.（習慣。前も今もかわらず。）

Lan said to me, “I come to work at 7:30 every morning.”
ランが私に言った。「私は毎朝7時半に仕事に来るの。」
⇒Lan said that she comes to work at 7:30 every morning.

Kim said to me, “I do volunteer work on Sundays.”
キムが私に言った。「私は日曜日にボランティアの仕事をしているの。」
⇒Kim said she does volunteer work on Sundays.



◇それぞれ確認しましょう。

＜直説話法の被伝達文が現在⇒間接話法の被伝達文は過去形＞

【Rajiv said to me, “I’m swamped with work.” 】
ラジブが私に言った。「仕事であっぷあっぷ なんだ。」
⇒Rajiv told me that he was swamped with work.
（be swamped 押し寄せる仕事にあっぷあっぷしてる。仕事で多忙きわまりない、swamp は、名詞で「沼」。）

＜直説話法の被伝達文が現在進行形⇒間接話法の被伝達文は過去進行形＞
【Rajiv said to me, “I’m working on it.” 】
ラジブが私に言った。「その件は取り組み中だよ。」
⇒Rajiv told me that he was working on it.

＜直説話法の被伝達文が現在完了進行形⇒間接話法の被伝達文は過去完了進行形＞
【Rajiv said to me, “I’ve been working on it.” 】
ラジブが私に言った。 「その件とはずっと取り組んでる。」
⇒Rajiv told me that he had been working on it.

＜直説話法の被伝達文が未来⇒間接話法の被伝達文はwil がwould＞
【Rajiv said to me, “I’ll work on it.” 】
ラジブが私に言った。「その件には取り組むから。」
⇒Rajiv told me that he would work on it.

＜直説話法の被伝達文が過去⇒間接話法の被伝達文は過去完了形＞
【Rajiv said to me, “I was swamped with work last week.” 】
ラジブが私に言った。「先週は仕事であっぷあっぷだった。」
⇒Rajiv told me that he had been swamped with work the week before. / the previous week.
（文脈から前後関係があきらかにわかる場合は過去からみた過去でも過去完了使わずどちらも過去ですますこともあります。ここではまずは正確さを目指して練習しましょう。）



◇練習をしましょう。

【Khanh said to me, “It doesn’t matter.” 】
カーンが私に言った。「それは重要じゃない。」
⇒Khanh told me that it didn’t matter.

【Rajiv said to me, “Who will lead the project?” 】
ラジブが私に言った。「誰がプロジェクトリーダー？」
⇒Rajiv asked me who would lead the project.

【Rajiv said to me, “I’m thinking about leaving the company.” 】
ラジブが私に言った。「会社をやめようかと思ってるんだ。」
⇒Rajiv told me that he was thinking about leaving the company.

【Khanh said to me, “Who was elected the Employee of the Month?” 】
カーンが私に言った。「誰が月間優秀社員に選ばれた？」
⇒Khanh asked me who had been elected the Employee of the Month.

【Minh said to me, “I’m feeling stressed out!” 】
ミンが私に言った。「ストレスで参っちゃうよ。」
⇒Minh told me that he was feeling stressed out.
（be stressed out ストレスで参る）

【Khanh said to me, “I’ve never seen anything like this!” 】
カーンが私に言った。「こんなのって見たことがない！」
⇒Khanh told me that he had never seen anything like that.

【Minh said to me, “Everything will work out fine.” 】
ミンが私に言った。「何もかもうまくいくよ。」
⇒Minh told me that everything would work out fine.

【Lan said to me, “Are you working on it?” 】
ランが私に言った。「あなた、その件と取り組んでるの？」
⇒Lan asked me if I was working on it.

【They said to me, “We sent you the payment last week.” 】
彼らが私に言った。「支払いは先週そちらに送りました。」
⇒They told me they had sent us the payment the previous week.
They told me they had sent us the payment the week before.

【Rajiv asked me, “Who was in charge of the project?” 】
ラジブが私に聞いた。 「誰がそのプロジェクトのリーダーだった？」
⇒Rajiv asked me who had been in charge of the project.

【Lan said, “I’ve never been so frustrated in my life.” 】
ランが言った。 「これほどイライラさせられるのって生まれて初めてだわ。」
⇒Lan said that she had never been so frustrated in her life.

【Khanh said to me, “Is everything OK?” 】
カーンが私に言った。「何もかもダイジョブ？」
⇒Khanh asked me if everything was OK.

【Lan said to me, “I submitted the proposal yesterday.” 】
ランが私に言った。「提案書は昨日提出したわ。」
⇒Lan told me that she had submitted the proposal the day before.
Lan told me that she had submitted the proposal the previous day.

【Khanh said to me, “I have no idea what will happen.” 】
カーンが私に言った。「何が起きるか、見当もつかない。」
⇒Khanh told me he had no idea what would happen.

【Rajiv said to me, “I’ve been working on the report since last week.” 】
ラジブが私に言った。「その報告書には先週からずっと取り組んでるんだ。」
⇒Rajiv told me that he had been working on the report since the week before.
　Rajiv told me that he had been working on the report since the previous week.

【Lan said to me, “I’m pretty upset about what happened.” 】
ランが私に言った。「起きたことに関してとても動揺してるの。」
⇒Lan told me that she was pretty upset about what had happened.

【Mr.Cheng said to me,”I’ll take care of it.” 】
ミスター・チェンが私に言った。「私がその件に対処しよう。」
⇒Mr.Cheng told me that he would take care of it.
