◇表現
【I’d say rename or redesign... 】
I'd say... は I would say... で「私が言うと仮定すると」の意味です。つまり「～だろうと思います。」「私の意見はこうなるかな。」と意見を柔らかく述べている印象を与える表現です。
Say のあとに動詞の原形が来るので文法的に考えると違和感があるはずですが、現実には、よく使われる話し方です。話している本人の頭の中では、I'd say, "Rename or redesign..." というふうに思考と発言が進行しています。「私ならこう言うかな」と前置きとして I'd say と言い、次に、その「言う」内容を続けている形です。
